This page provides all of the information you need regarding the Cocteau Twins Official Mailing List. First thing you should know is that the mailing list has reached its capacity of 500 members at this time. However, there may be spaces available as current members unsubscribe. Please contact the List Administrator to find out if there is any space currently available.

The list is fully automated so all commands need to be sent to the listserv address (LISTSERV@cocteautwins.org)

To subscribe simply send an email to the listserv address (LISTSERV@cocteautwins.org) with the command SUBSCRIBE COCTEAU typed in the body of your message, leaving the subject blank. The default of the program is set to send you an acknowledgment of each message you post to the entire list. You will not receive a copy of your own message. You can alter these settings to suit your preferences. Other commands you may be interested in are listed below. 

To receive copies of your own messages:         SET COCTEAU REPRO

To turn this feature off:                       SET COCTEAU NOREPRO



To receive an acknowledgment of your post:      SET COCTEAU ACK

To turn this feature off:                       SET COCTEAU NOACK
The default of the list is to send you copies of each message as they are posted to the list. The list is available in digest form (one comprehensive mail of the entire day's messages) that cycles every 24 hours at 10 PM US Pacific time. The list is also available in an indexed form (one mail of the entire day's message topics only) which cycles at the same time as the digest. You can alter these settings to your preference as well. 

To set the digest mode:                         SET COCTEAU DIGEST

To turn this feature off:                       SET COCTEAU NODIGEST

To set the index mode(negates digest):          SET COCTEAU INDEX

To turn this feature off:                       SET COCTEAU NOINDEX
If you are going out of town or won't have access to your email account for a long period of time, then it is advised that you suspend your mail delivery. This doesn't unsubscribe you from the list. It will keep your mailbox from filling up and bouncing messages off the listserv. 

To turn off mail delivery:                       SET COCTEAU NOMAIL

To restart mail delivery:                        SET COCTEAU MAIL
You can get a directory of all subscribers and their email addresses for the entire list. However, you can remain anonymous and exempt from this feature as well. 

To get a list of all subscribers:                 REVIEW COCTEAU

To conceal yourself from review:                  SET COCTEAU CONCEAL

To turn off this feature:                         SET COCTEAU NOCONCEAL
Every posting to the list is archived in a notebook on the listserv. These archives are grouped by month. Feel free to review these archived postings. This is a great feature for new members as well as existing subscribers. It will allow you to catch up on postings that you have missed for various reasons (accidental delete, mail delivery turned off, you hadn't subscribed yet, etc.).
