Is this a DVD or a DVD-R?
This is a fully pressed, professional DVD, produced from a glass master. This is not a DVD-R. The DVD also includes copy protection so it cannot be duplicated.
How can I be sure that I can watch this DVD on my particular DVD player?
Because this DVD is pressed from a glass master it will play in all DVD players using NTSC standard, and all multi-standard DVD players. It will also playback in any computer with a DVD drive with DVD player software.
I live in a country using the PAL or SECAM television standard, will I be able to view this DVD?
You can view the DVD on a computer that has a DVD drive and DVD viewing software anywhere in the world. Also, if you have a multi-region DVD player you can watch the DVD on your television.
I have a mutl-region DVD player, do I also need to have a multi-region television to watch this DVD?
Almost all DVD players sold in PAL countries play both kinds of discs. These multi-standard players partially convert NTSC to a 60-Hz PAL (4.43 NTSC) signal. The player uses the PAL 4.43-MHz color subcarrier encoding format but keeps the 525/60 NTSC scanning rate. Most modern PAL TVs can handle this "pseudo-PAL" signal. A few multi-standard PAL players output true 3.58 NTSC from NTSC discs, which requires an NTSC TV or a multi-standard TV. Some players have a switch to choose 60-Hz PAL or true NTSC output when playing NTSC discs. There are a few standards-converting PAL players that convert from an NTSC disc to standard PAL output for older PAL TVs. Proper "on the fly" standards conversion requires expensive hardware to handle scaling, temporal conversion, and object motion analysis. Because the quality of conversion in DVD players is poor, using 60-Hz PAL output with a compatible TV provides a better picture than converting from NTSC to PAL.
What is the image quality like?
We searched high and low in order to obtain the best possible copies of these videos for this DVD. We managed to get the majority of the footage from original Betacam SP, high-quality, master tapes. These are the types of tapes that are
sent out to television stations for promotional purposes. There are only two videos (Love's Easy Tears, Pink Orange Red) on this DVD
which are less than excellent quality, unfortunately better quality copies were impossible to locate. Everything else on this DVD is near broadcast quality.
If you have a copy of the original Cocteau Twins VCD's that were previously available you will notice a VAST improvement in both
the image and sound quality!
What is the sound quality like?
Tishbites is 2 channel Dolby stereo.

No. To date there has never been an official Cocteau Twins DVD produced.
